This Privacy Policy explains how Y2Notion collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our application (the "Service"). By using Y2Notion, you agree to the practices described below.

This document is provided as a general template and does not constitute legal advice. We recommend having it reviewed by a qualified lawyer before publishing, particularly regarding GDPR compliance.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Account information

When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address and basic account details. We do not store your password — Clerk handles authentication on our behalf.

1.2 YouTube URLs and generated content

When you submit a YouTube URL, we process the video's publicly available transcript to generate a summary. We may store:

• The video ID
• The generated summary text

This is used to let you revisit a summary later (for example, after a page refresh) without regenerating it.

1.3 Notion access

If you choose to connect your Notion workspace, we request an access token via Notion's OAuth process. This token is stored securely and used only to create pages in the workspace locations you explicitly select. We do not access, read, or modify any other content in your Notion workspace.

1.4 Payment information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details — Stripe handles this directly, and we only receive confirmation of your subscription status.

1.5 Usage data

We may collect basic technical data such as IP address and request timestamps, used to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse (including through Cloudflare Turnstile verification).

2. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide and operate the Service
• Generate and store your video summaries
• Save summaries to your Notion workspace, when requested
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Enforce usage limits and prevent abuse
• Communicate with you about your account, when necessary

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to train AI models beyond what is required to generate your requested summary.

3. Third-party services

Y2Notion relies on the following third-party processors to operate:

4. Data storage and retention

• Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
• Generated summaries are retained to enable caching and shareable links, until you delete your account or request removal.
• Notion access tokens are retained until you disconnect your Notion account or revoke access through Notion's own integration settings.
• We take reasonable technical measures to protect stored data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data protection law (such as the GDPR), including the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent (such as disconnecting your Notion account) at any time

6. Cookies and local storage

Y2Notion uses minimal local storage in your browser to cache generated summaries for faster reloading. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
